Candy Envelopes

Isn’t this the cutest little envelope with a candy surprise inside?! This is the perfect little treat to make for a group of your friends. Let me show you how to do it.

First, cut 8 1/2″ x 2 1/2 ” strips from decorative paper. I used a double sided paper to add interest.

Next, mark and fold at 2 3/4″, 1 1/4″, 2 3/4″, 1 1/4″ and 1/2″. Notice that the last 1/2″ mark is folded the opposite way.

Tape this flap down with roller adhesive.

Add a small rectangle of hook ‘n loop tape under the flap. This will allow our envelope to open and close.

Time to embellish with stickers, jewels, brads and ribbon. Soo cute! This is when I get all giddy. I love decorating.

Time for a break after all that cutting and glueing. CHOCOLATE!!! Oh my goodness! These are my favorite right now, Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds with Sea Salt and Turbinado Sugar. Yum! Anyway, back to our little gifts.

Fill a clear candy bag, (which can be found in the candy making section of the craft store), with your favorite candy.

Fold over the top corners to keep the candy from spilling out and staple. Then glue it to the inside of the envelope.

See it all fits in!

Wow! Look at how different each one is. Have fun. The joy is in the creating. That joy will be felt by your friends. Hmmm….I wonder who will be getting my little treats?
