Springtime Wreath

A friend asked if I would make her a spring wreath like the one I made the other day for my front door. The elementary school is having its spring festival with a silent auction. You know, it’s one thing to make something for yourself, but to make it for someone else is a whole different ball game. People actually wanting to put their money out for something I’ve made seems ridiculous, but I’ll give it a try. I did indeed make another one of those mesh fabric wreaths, but it needs some tweaking. I’ll see what I can do with it today.

But meanwhile, I wanted to make this wreath I saw on Pinterest.

20130322-091834.jpg Super easy and super cute!

20130322-093505.jpg14inch wreath, heavy weight yarn, eyelash yarn, flowers, ribbon and a glue gun.

20130322-094119.jpg The key here with the wrapping is to take the yarn end from the middle of the skein, instead of the outside. Just stick your fingers in one of the sides and find an end. As you will see later in my demonstration, if you use the outside end of yarn, you will have a tangled mes

20130322-095147.jpgNow with the eyelash yarn begin wrapping

20130322-095244.jpgSee? I didn’t take the end from the middle

20130322-095322.jpgTurn wreath over to check for gaps.

20130322-095822.jpgI like! I will even put the little sign from the idea photo on this one too. Maybe they can make a few dollars off this pretty little thing at the spring carnival.
