Spring Day at the Farm

20130512-205838.jpgA couple of weeks ago we went tractor shopping. Superman’s father had about 70 acres where he raised cattle. Since his passing, the cattle have been sold and the land is used for hunting, scout camp outs and target shooting. Superman inherited a 1970’s Allis-Chalmers tractor that created more headaches and frustration than actual work. Superman became quick friends with Johnny, the tractor repairman. When we bought this new Kubota, the elderly man told Superman he was sad he wouldn’t be able to see him much anymore. He enjoyed their friendship, just as much as fixing the old tractor. I’m going to bake him a cake for all of the help he’s given Superman. I’m sure we’ll need Johnny again soon.

20130512-210326.jpgThis weekend the whole family, including Sam our dog, went to the farm to get some areas ready to plant food plots.

20130512-212309.jpgThere was a lot of sitting around.

20130512-212403.jpgWe watched Sam go swimming in the pond.

20130512-213031.jpgAs much fun as the photo-bomb shoots were, I was completely enthralled with the beauty around me.

20130512-214648.jpgI enjoy watching him chuggin’ along. (Makes me want to sing Kenny Chesney’s “She thinks my tractor’s sexy…”)
