Tennis Party

My tennis team, the Topspinners, has won our area league and we’re headed to Aiken, SC for the State championships. To celebrate our undefeated season, I held a little get together.
I’d like to share my decorations for this shindig.

20140507-110827.jpgEverything is ready. For the mason jar glasses, pompom trim was hot glued to the lid and a hole punched for the straw.

20140507-111224.jpgI mixed up this Raspberry Cocktail, which Lauren Conrad pinned on Pinterest from Southern Living. Yum!

20140507-111547.jpgDid you notice that my “vases” are tennis ball cans? I put some glass pebbles in the bottom to help keep them from tipping over and decorated the cans with washi tape.

20140507-111708.jpgDagmar, Linda and Wendy give a big CHEERS! to our team!

20140507-111809.jpgHere’s a close up if the banner. Using stuff I have on hand…paper, a lace punch and my Cricut machine, the banner was quick to put together.

20140507-112132.jpgHere we are saying hello to our team captain, Susan, who sadly, couldn’t be with us, because her husband…

20140507-113416.jpgbroke both of his arms falling from a ladder! Ouch! Thank Goodness he can still drink a glass of wine! Poor Sandy.

The good thing about these types of parties is that everyone brings their favorite dish, appetizer or dessert. I never worry about if there is going to be enough food or a variety of choices because it always works out. Just like tonight…we had Baked apricot Brie, Tortellini pasta salad, pimento cheese with toast rounds, “The Best Dip Ever!”, Mango Salsa and chips, fresh fruit, home baked Chocolate pound cake and German Chocolate Cake.Deeelishus!

20140507-114456.jpgAs champions of our area, SATL, (Spartanburg Area Tennis League), gives the players a congratulatory gift. This season it is a hand towel. I need it. I, of course, had to jazz them up by making an initial tag for each one.

20140507-114739.jpgThen as a fun sersie to my guests, I made tennis ball goodies. (I recommend using a sharp blade. Just be careful!)

It was a sweet evening with friends. Thank you girls for coming over!

And thank you for stopping by,
